• Cut the obligations. Just because you attended someone’s wedding a couple of years ago, when you were closer, it doesn’t mean that you should invite them to your wedding if you haven’t spoken to them recently.

• Cut the work colleagues. Unless you’re actually friends with your workmates and you frequently go out together, you have absolutely no obligation to invite them at your wedding – and even less so if you are running on a smaller budget.
