Don’t Be Late For Your Very Important Date - Create A Wedding Day Timeline
There are moments in life when being late is simply not an option. Your wedding day is one of those events. Even more than that, it’s one of those days when you really want everything to go absolutely smooth.
If you want to prevent any unforeseen “moments” on your Big Day (or at least if you want to do this as much as it is humanly possible), creating a wedding day timeline is a great idea. How to do this? Here are some tips to help you create a realistic timeline for your wedding day!
When it comes to hair and makeup, leave yourself for last. It will take about 30 minutes for each bridesmaid to get done and about 2 hours for the bride to have her hair and makeup done by a professional. Make sure you allow as much time as you need for this and make sure you double it if you have to travel to a salon for the makeup and hair.
Also, remind yourself to call in the photographer about one hour before everything’s done. This way, he/she will be able to shoot some good-looking “getting ready” photos. Also, he/she will be around for the “first look” as well (if you plan on having any, of course).
The ceremony should not last more than 30 minutes. However, keep in mind the fact that the groom (and his groomsmen) have to be there about 90 minutes before the actual ceremony starts.
Take into consideration the receiving line too. This will take about 15 minutes if you have less than 100 guests and about 20 minutes if you have up to 150 guests. You may want to skip the receiving line if you have more than 150 guests (and you can simply greet your guests at their tables).
The reception should take about 6 hours. While you can “juggle” with the main moments at your wedding reception, you will probably want to leave the Cutting of the Cake for the last part (and have your Bouquet/Garter Toss right after that and before the Farewell).
